These large yellow glass beads were produced in the ancient city of Hebron and traded into Africa sometime during the 17-1800’s. Also known as “Kano” beads (from being further shaped and flattened in the Sudan area) the beads command attention with their big size and opaque coloring that is thought to be from salts gathered from the Dead Sea and used in the glass mix.
Average bead size is approximately 22mm. Average hole size is approximately 4mm.
