During China’s Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), all court officials were given a “court chain” as a badge of merit and rank. Usually made from semi-precious beads on a silk cord with tassel, these were required regalia at all official functions. This early set features elongated hexagonal agates with spherical carnelian & tiger eye beads. All original “as found” and quite collectible.
Overall length of “chain” is approximately 4 feet. Largest bead is approximately 40mm x 12mm. Hole size is approximately 1mm.
